Wait Times and List Management
At Theresa Purrs Maine Coons, we breed with care and responsibility, so kittens are not always available right away.
Litter sizes and timing can change, so we can’t guarantee exact wait times.
Our waitlist lets families reserve a spot for a future kitten while we focus on the health, growth, and happiness of our cats and kittens.
Being on the waitlist means you’re waiting for the right kitten, not just the next available one.
We keep families on our waitlist updated as plans change and kittens grow.
We always place kittens thoughtfully to make sure each one finds the best home.
If you are flexible about gender and color, you will likely have a shorter wait for a kitten.
Veterinarian: Find a suitable veterinarian for your future Maine Coon, preferably one that is familiar with the breed.
Grooming is especially important for long-haired pets like Maine Coons.
We suggest using a greyhound comb.
We comb our cats at least three times a week and trim their nails every one to two weeks. If you keep your future Maine Coon on a regular schedule, grooming will be much easier.
How to Join the Approved Adopters Wait List:
Reserving your Theresa Purrs Maine Coons kitten is an exciting milestone, and we’re honored to guide you through it. Our kittens are ready to be reserved once they reach 6 weeks of age, when their personalities begin to shine and we can start making thoughtful matches.
We review applications and conduct interviews in the order they’re received, always taking the time to ensure the best fit. Families who currently have a Theresa Purrs kitten and have expressed interest ahead of pick day are given first consideration—once part of our family, always part of our family.
When it’s time to reserve your kitten, you’ll receive our contract to carefully review and complete. Once the contract is signed, a $500 reservation deposit is collected. This deposit is applied directly toward the final purchase price of your kitten.
Our kittens’ well-being always comes first. If at any point we feel a placement is not in the best interest of one of our kittens, the contract will be voided and the deposit will be fully refunded. This process allows us to protect our kittens while ensuring every placement is made with care, trust, and transparency. 🐾💙
Before a reservation can be made, all applicants must provide verifiable veterinary documentation for any resident cats living within the household including but not limited to;
Acceptable Documentation Formats include;
All documents must clearly identify each cat by name, gender, and color. They must also include the veterinarian’s name, clinic, and contact information. This policy reflects our commitment to maintaining high health standards and responsible cattery practices. Kittens are especially vulnerable to infectious disease during their developmental period, and this step helps ensure that they are placed in safe, healthy environments where they will continue to thrive. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us prioritize animal health and well-being.
Theresa Purrs Maine Coon kittens can start to go home after 14 to 16 weeks.
We prefer that pickup/delivery arrangements are made by 12 weeks. Kittens that will be flying to their new homes are only to be flown in cabin with their new owner (You) or us (Theresa Purrs Maine Coons). Kittens are not allowed to be flown in cargo or driven ground transport cargo. Kittens will only be released to the approved owner on the signed contract unless approved prior.
